2007 NBA Finals betting safe

The 2007 NBA Finals finally tip off tonight with Game 1 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Spurs in San Antonio. The Spurs are searching for their fourth championship since 1999 NBA Finals and are heavy favorites at -400 at most books. The Cavaliers have never won a championship, and in fact the team has never been to the Finals before. Due to the wide gap in NBA playoff experience between the two teams, the Cavs are a +320 underdog to end the franchise’s championship drought.

The Cavs and Spurs squared off twice during the regular season with Cleveland winning both contests. Early in the NBA regular season the Cavaliers defeated the Spurs 88-81 in San Antonio as a 5.5-point underdog. That was the first time Cleveland has won in San Antonio since 1988. In the rematch back in Cleveland in January, the Cavs edged the Spurs 82-78 as a 3.5-point dog. In the victories Cleveland’s defense was able to shut down the Spurs, who shot les than 40 percent in both losses. If the Cavaliers can maintain that kind of defensive pressure against the Spurs through the Finals, and continue to get show-stopping performances from LeBron, they could prove the oddsmakers wrong.

The 2007 NBA Finals are here, and Sportsbook.com is offering you the chance to get money back on your bets, even if you lose!

Kentucky Derby 2007 Odds Updated

Odds at 2007 Derby Kentucky starting on Saturday have changed , but Curlin (#2) is still the favorite.

The top 2007 Derby Kentucky contenders, in alphabetical order, fit all three horseshoes: Any Given Saturday, Domincan, Nobiz Like Shobiz, Scat Daddy, Stormello and Street Sense.

The betting odds at Sportsbook.com for the 3-years-old horse have changed from 3/1 to 9/5. Odds for winning the Kentucky Derby 2007 have also changed for Street Sense, going at 9/2 from previously paying 6/1. It does appear that the bookmakers have chosen their favorites for the Derby race on the 5th. A bet on Sedgefield to win the 2007 Kentucky Derby would now pay you $70 for every $1 you wager instead of the yesterday’s future betting odds of 100/1.

Some risk may be justified, considering last year’s Kentucky Derby bettors who took a risk and counted on Barbaro to win the Kentucky Derby were paid $14.20 on a $2 wager.

Read some tips about Kentucky Derby Betting.

- Pick the top two finishers (an exacta), the top three (a trifecta) or the top four (a superfecta). Straight exactas, trifectas and superfectas require the bettor to choose the order of how the horses finish, while a “box” bet allows them to finish in any order for a win.
- Look to see if the horse has been winning lately. Beware of horses that seem to always finish second.

Place your bet at Kentucky Derby 2007 at Sportsbook.com and you can get $100 in Free Triple Crown Bets.

NCAA Basketball Tournament Final

Updates on the NCAA basketball championship.
The Florida Gators already topped Ohio State to win the national championship in college football this season. They’ll try to steal another national championship away from the Buckeyes on Monday night when they face them in the NCAA basketball final tournament.

The Gators reached the tournament final for the second straight year by knocking off the UCLA Bruins 76-66 as a 3-point favorite in the Final Four. Those were the same Bruins the Gators routed to win their first national championship a year earlier. As per usual, the Gators delivered a balanced offensive attack in the win with Corey Brewer leading the way with 19 points. Lee Humphrey and Taurean Green displayed their shooting prowess again with 14 and 10 points respectively. Joakim Noah and Al Horford dominated in the paint again, as Noah had eight points and 11 rebounds, while Horford added nine points and 17 rebounds.

The Buckeyes made it into the final by dropping the Georgetown Hoyas 67-60 as a 1-point underdog in the Final Four. Mike Conley Jr. excelled under pressure for Ohio State with 15 points, five rebounds and six assists. Greg Oden wasn?t slowed very much by fellow seven-footer Roy Hibbert as he chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds. Jamar Butler also scored in double-figures with 10 points.

The Gators are a 4.5-point betting favorite in this game, but if history means anything Florida should easily cover that small spread. The Gators and Buckeyes already clashed once this season back in January. To say the Gators routed the Buckeyes in that game would be an understatement. Florida dominated Ohio State in an 86-60 victory as a 5.5-point favorite. Green was on fire for Florida in the win with a team-high 24 points. Corey Brewer deposited 18 points, while Al Horford posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds in his first game back after suffering a sprained ankle.

Conley Jr. was the only Buckeye to have any success against the Florida defense, as he led Ohio State with 13 points, five rebounds and seven assists. Oden spent part of the game in foul trouble, but even when he was in the game he had trouble contending with Horford and Noah. Oden ended up with only seven points and six rebounds. As a team the Buckeyes shot a season-low 36.5 percent from the field and were outrebounded by Florida 42-25. To have a chance in the rematch, Ohio State will have to greatly improve in both categories.

Who will be the NCAA basketball champion ?
