PokerStars Returning to US Gambling Market

PokerStars The world’s largest & popular online poker company plans to return to the United States online gambling market from March.

PokerStars is planning to start in it’s operations in New Jersey from March 21st. This re-emergence of PokerStars will be an exciting new chapter in the US online gambling arena , as the company has earlier pulled out of the online gambling market.

After the launch , players only physically present in Jersey will be able to play the PokerStars platform and gamble online.

PokerStars website will be the 18th in the state to offer online gambling opportunities. The website will go under robust testing from the relevant state authorities before it’s debut. The exciting part is that PokerStars will not only offer poker games but also table and slot machine games.

During the year 2013  PokerStars disparately tried to get licensed in New Jersey and lodged license approval applications two times. But the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement suspended the company for up to two years, citing legal issues involving some  of the company top executives plus an unresolved indictment against its founder.

The PokerStars website paid a huge $547 million sum fine to the USA Department of Justice but stopped short of admitting any wrongdoing.

The PokerStars announcement shows a long and tiring process for approval mainly involving overcoming the legal hurdles that arised before the Amaya take over.

David Baazov, Amaya’s chairman and CEO mentioned in a statement “We are honored and excited to now bring these experiences to New Jersey.” he further continue “PokerStars is the global leader in online poker and trusted by its customers for its robust and innovative technology, world-class security and game integrity,” said David Baazov, Amaya’s chairman and CEO”.
