I see you are saying that people are gambling to become rich...well...that's not going to happen for the most of them.
Gambling is for relaxation and for fun, and this is done by wining money and interacting with other players.

Poor people can't afford to play in a casino. So that's why they pay lottery. There are a lot of rich people that still play the lottery, but the majority is made of poor and medium-class people.
