How important is patience?

Patience and hard work are keys of success and I totally agree with the views presented by the earlier visitors. You need to have patience in addition to all other parameter that are required by a poker player to succeed in the game of poker.

I think patience is one of the part of your poker strategy. While planning your poker strategy including bet raising etc., you should also keep patience into your mind so that your opponent can't easily guess your cards and it will ultimately benefit you in your poker game.

I 100% agree with what you have said. Patient is a part of the strategy. If someone doesn't have good patience, then he/she will have a bad strategy!

Poker is all about patience. It is similar to chess. You need to study the game first and then play. Sometime you can call some moves, but need to evaluate and the take the best decision.

Almost all the successful poker professional have huge amount of patience.

For players lacking patience won't win consistently. Lowering your starting hand standards for lack of patience is liability you can't overcome, no matter how much you've studied. Without patience, knowledge can't bring success. Knowledge is important, but patience is crucial. Without it, you'll never be a winning player.
