I've just read an article about gambling addiction. Until I've read it, I believed that gambling is not an addiction but a hobby. In the article here is a test on gambling addiction. You need simply to answer the questions. This article to my mind is rather persuasive:

Raher interesting article, but I do not agree that gumbling is so dangerous addiction. I think everything depends on psychological peculiarities of a person. Almost everybody nowadays drinks alcohol and not everyone becomes alcoholic. So is with gambling: somebody becomes addicted and somebody doesn't and gambling is simply a hobby for him.

Gambling is a serious addiction and doctors have proved it already. People who are addicted to online casino games are more serious than those who play it offline

I think its all depends on the personality of a person. Certain personalities should have more strict laws placed on them to even enter casinos and some people could just go in, spend some money and then leave and not worry about trying to get it back.
