Casino Craps Strategy
Casino Craps is easily the most well-known of all the casino games. Whether played in dark alleyways or the glitz-ridden felt boards of Las Vegas, craps has held an hypnotic hold on the gambling community for generations. The basic layout of the game is simple. Players take turns at rolling a pair of dice, everyone places bets on every roll regardless who is shooting.
The first roll of the game is the “come out roll”. Players place “Pass” or “Don’t pass bets. The shooter (the person rolling) is hoping to get either 7 or 11 to win the pass line bet (which is the basic bet to place in craps, and is the most popular by far). If the shooter throws a 2, 3 or a dreaded 12 he has “crapped” out and loses his bet, he still gets to roll until he hits a 7 (referred to as sevened-out) at which time he has to make way for the next shooter.
Any other number rolled (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10) is called a “point”. Once a shooter rolls a point the shooter has to roll that point again to win (hit a 4 on your roll and you have to keep hitting 4 to make any money). If the point is set and the shooter hits a 7 he’s done and the next shooter hits the table. In other words, keep rolling until you’re out. There are 36 combinations in craps, meaning on the come out roll, there are 8 ways to win and four ways to lose.

Casino Craps Betting
Casino Craps online is all about the different types of bets someone can place on the table. All bet types have a designated area on the table. Pass line bets speculate that the shooter will hit a point number before hitting a 7 (he passes 7 for a point number, get it).
Come bets are just like the pass line bets, the only difference being that come bets are made after the come out roll. The house usually let’s the player take odds on this type of bet, it’s the most respected of the types of wagers there are to make in craps and is highly recommended. Some players like to take the other side of the table and bet against the shooter, these types of bets are referred to as Don’t Pass Line bets.
Don’t pass line bets our usually frowned upon, being that you are putting your money on the shooter crapping out (rolling a 2, 3, or 12 before rolling a 7). Do yourself a favor and stay away from Don’t pass and it’s twin sister, the Don’t come bet (the antithesis of the come bet).
Proposition bets vary from casino to casino but the gist is universal. Players bet that certain combinations of rolls will come up. These bets are located in the center of the table and have the highest house advantage.
Casino Craps Odds
If you’re feeling adventurous you may want to give this a try, high odds, but this is gambling after all. Place and buy bets, allow the players to buy numbers that will come up in a roll before the 7 is rolled.
These bets come with a house commission and but the payouts are respectable, this would be a technique to save once you have the basics of the game nailed down. Lay bets are the opposite of the buy bets, the player bets that the a 7 will be rolled before the number he has placed chips on.
Experts need only apply with these bets, if you don’t know what you’re doing you can end the night very early and look like a fool in the process.
Casino Craps Tips
Most casinos and professionals suggest to stay with the Pass line/Come bets. Craps etiquette is straight-forward. Don’t handle the dice with both hands, no switching hands during the roll.
Roll to the wall, don’t stop short. The dealer cannot touch your chips, ask for change before the roll. No late bets, no food on the railing, and please do not call out the number seven, it’s considered bad luck. And remember, always take odds.
