Hollywood to Base a Movie on Online Casino Gambling

For Hollywood, gambling has always been a favorite subject. When speaking of gambling, movies like Rounders and Ocean’s Thirteen readily come to mind. Online gambling has become a major sector of the gambling industry since then and it is only natural that Hollywood turns it attention to online gambling.

A lot about the movie is being kept secret. The story line is closely being guarded. Till yet, no shooting date has been set and therefore no release date. However what is known forebodes well. Fans of Hollywood movie star Leonardo DiCaprio can see him next year in the upcoming flick who is the best combination available for an amalgamation of acting talent and celebrity material. The movie is as yet untitled based in the Central American nation of Costa Rica which is one of the leading jurisdictions for licensing online casino operations. The location is host to some of the leading online casinos.

The idea was pitched by screenwriters Brian Koppelman and David Levien, who are currently working with DiCaprio on an adaptation of Beat the Reaper, a medical/crime thriller. The two screenwriters also penned Ocean's Thirteen and the famous poker move Rounders, which starred Edward Norton and Matt Damon as high-stakes players in the underground poker scene, thought to be responsible for the start of the poker boom years ago. While DiCaprio hasn’t been as big in the poker scene as many other movie stars, he has partnered with Doyle Brunson in the past for political reasons.

DiCaprio, who most recently starred in "Revolutionary Road," returns to theaters in October with Paramount's Martin Scorsese-directed thriller "Shutter Island."

The online gambling industry has much to offer by way of dramatics ranging from the tussle with the government to the super user scandal and huge jackpot wins. However, only time will tell how much of these feature in the movie.
